Vancouver School Board is the public school system of the city of Vancouver, one of the most diverse and liveable cities in Canada, with a mild coastal climate and mountains and ocean at its doorstep. The district runs 18 secondary and 90 elementary schools, and welcomes around 1,300 international students from more than 35 countries. Stronger students may take Advanced Placement courses in calculus, computer science, literature, history and the sciences, supported by English language classes and orientation for newcomers. Secondary students aged 13 and older can live with welcoming local homestay families. Taiwanese families value the scale, choice and multicultural comfort of studying in a major Canadian city.
